AS Monaco’s inconsistency came back to haunt them once again, as they slumped to a heavy 4–1 defeat away to Paris FC on April 10, 2026. The result came just days after an impressive win over Marseille, highlighting the unpredictable nature of their season.

Softfootball reported that the defeat has raised fresh concerns about Monaco’s ability to maintain momentum in crucial moments.

Paris FC wasted no time asserting their dominance at the Stade Jean-Bouin, racing into an early lead with goals from Jonathan Ikoné and Ciro Immobile inside the opening eight minutes. Ikoné later added a third on the counter, leaving Monaco chasing shadows for large parts of the game.

Although Folarin Balogun managed to pull one back in the 36th minute, Monaco’s second-half display was alarming, failing to register a single shot on target as the match slipped further away.

The defeat also reignited memories of Monaco’s struggles on the European stage, including their humiliating 6–1 loss to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, where stars like Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior tore through their defence.

Softfootball noted that such performances are beginning to form a worrying pattern, one that could derail their hopes of securing a European spot this season.

Paris FC, on the other hand, continue to build a reputation as one of the league’s biggest disruptors. Their recent victory over Monaco adds to a growing list of giant-killing performances, including their shock win over Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the year.

The confidence and discipline shown by the hosts stood in stark contrast to Monaco’s disjointed display.

Fans did not hold back in their reactions on Monaco X handle, expressing frustration over what they perceived as a lack of effort and discipline. Faisal wrote,

Very useless team one of the most useless I have ever supported. Beat Marseille last week lose to Paris FC today. Nonsense.

 Kevin added,

It was over 15 minutes into the match. If they couldn’t find motivation for this match then they’re lazy and soft. No shots on goal the entire 2nd half is an absolute disgrace. They didn’t even try.

Another fan, antifa, commented,

Lmao so undisciplined…this team is heinous. Balogun being US’ top striker is scary.

Sean vented his frustration, saying,

Ya cunts fucked ma bet coz yous r shite.

while Obele concluded,

Shameless club. U don’t deserve to be in top flight clubs.

With pressure mounting and consistency lacking, Monaco now face a critical period in their campaign. If performances like this continue, their ambitions for European football could quickly slip out of reach.
