Mikel Arteta keen for Saka to sign new Arsenal contract

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is keen to see Bukayo Saka sign a new contract at the Emirates, Softfootball reports.

The England international’s current deal with Arsenal expires in 2027 but the Gunners want to external the deal to avoid the temptation of the player leaving for a free or being lured by a top European side. Saka has been plagued by injuries this season and he recently returned during the 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Arteta understands the importance of the academy graduate and wants the player to remain at the club. He wrote:

Mikel Arteta on Bukayo Saka’s new contract: I will love that!

It’s a player that is extremely happy and proud to have the role that he has. Things will develop naturally. Everyone knows how important Bukayo is for us. Hopefully we can do it.

Arsenal will be facing Newcastle United in the premier league this weekend and Saka will hope to return to the starting line-up against the Magpies. The 24-year-old won Arsenal’s goal of the season for August and will want to get back to scoring form.
