Mikel Arteta has hailed his substitute players for their impact in Arsenal’s 2-1 away win over Newcastle United at Saint James’ Park on Sunday evening, Softfootball reports.
The Gunners went into the game after their 2-0 victory over Port Vale in the Carabao Cup in midweek and looked hungry for another win as they compete for honours in various competitions this season.
Interestingly, Arteta used up all his five substitution against Newcastle as they came from behind to win the encounter.

In an interview posted via Arsenal’s official media, Arteta explained how proud he is of his players after the encounter. He said:
The impactors, the players coming in made such a difference. Bringing energy, bringing in quality. Martinelli, Martin with two incredible assists, with Mikel coming from midfield and you always know that it’s a threat.
Saliba at half-time is required to do that, Myles has to come back after we get the equaliser. Unbelievable for the team.
I think the consistency and the level that the team is showing, it gave me a really good feeling and hope for the future. We need to continue to go.
Arsenal have now moved into second position in the premier league table with 13 points, just two off leaders Liverpool after six matches so far this season.
