Mbeumo pushing hard for Manchester United move

Brentford forward, Bryan Mbeumo is pushing hard for a move to Manchester United this summer, Softfootball reports.

The Red Devils have long been linked with the Cameroon international. Infact, Reuben Amorim’s side has been after Mbeumo for six weeks on a bounce.

According to Transfer News Live, Manchester United have offered a £65million guaranteed fee plus £5m in add-ons to help seal the deal. They are now waiting for a response from the club as Mbeumo has since agreed to personal terms.

Manchester United had two bids initially rejected by Brentford. The first was £45m plus £10m in add-ons while the second was £55m plus £7.2m in add-ons. At some stage, reports suggested that the deal had stalled since the Bees kept asking for more funds while Man United were on a tight budget.

Amorim had wanted Mbeumo at the start of Manchester United’s pre-season on July 7, 2025 but the deal wasn’t wrapped up in time. However, the Red Devils are confident that they will be third time lucky with the latest bid.

Mbeumo was one of the most outstanding players in the Premier League last season, scoring 20 goals with seven assists for Brentford as they finished 10th with 56 points, five places above Manchester United.

Softfootball reported earlier that Manchester United have submitted an improved bid for Mbeumo and are confident that the offer would be accepted by Brentford. Manchester United players have returned to pre-season looking very fit and sharp on the eyes.

The only down side is the injury to first choice goalkeeper, Andre Onana who picked up an hamstring injury but looks like he would recover before the Red Devils premier League opener against Arsenal. The Caneroonian is definitely out for the friendly against Leeds United this weekend.

So far, Manchester United have signed just two players Pedro Leon and Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m.
