De Ligt admitted that in modern football, players cannot completely avoid what fans say online. However, he stressed the importance of not letting opinions, positive or negative, affect how he performs.

He explained:

In this world we live in now, it is normal to know what the fans are saying. It’s easy not to talk about it, but it’s the truth. Not playing well can sometimes be quite harsh and difficult. But I think that as modern footballers, we must learn how to use that to our advantage.

The 26-year-old believes that the key to growth is maintaining the same work ethic no matter the circumstances.

He said:

It can be positive, it can be negative. But for me, the most important thing is that it doesn’t change whether it is negative or positive. Because my work will always be the same.

De Ligt also added that his focus is on his daily habits, both in training and outside football.

He noted:

As long as my work remains the same on and off the pitch, then the game is a consequence of that.

That steady attitude has helped him remain consistent in a demanding Manchester United side. His commitment and resilience were also evident when his late header earned United a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, as reported by SoftFootball. De Ligt’s mentality continues to inspire teammates and fans alike, serving as a reminder that calmness and discipline often define true professionalism.
