Mathys Tel has revealed Harry Kane played a key role in persuading him to complete his move to Tottenham after initially turning down the opportunity.
Softfootball reports the young French forward eventually accepted Spurs’ proposal following a conversation with his Bayern Munich teammate.
The talented attacker joined Tottenham on loan after discussions with Kane, who previously enjoyed a record-breaking spell in North London before moving to Bayern Munich. Tel admitted the England captain spoke highly of the club’s facilities, supporters and overall environment.
The teenager explained that Kane’s positive assessment gave him confidence that Tottenham would be the right place to continue his development. He also expressed excitement about working with his new teammates and contributing to the club’s ambitions for the remainder of the season.
Spurs see Tel as an important addition to their attacking options, while the youngster hopes regular playing time in the Premier League will accelerate his progress at the highest level.
