Aston Villa are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United to sign Marcus Rashford on loan for the remainder of the season.
The proposed deal is not yet complete, but significant progress has reportedly been made as both clubs work to finalise the financial details of the transfer.
Softfootball reports that Villa are looking to cover a substantial portion of Rashford’s wages while also offering performance-related bonuses as part of the agreement.
The opportunity to play Champions League football is believed to be an important attraction for Rashford, while Villa manager Unai Emery is said to be strongly in favour of the move.
Emery reportedly sees the England international as a player capable of rediscovering his best form and making a major impact in the second half of the campaign.
Rashford had attracted interest from several major European clubs, including Barcelona, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, but he now appears set to remain in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old has not played for United since being left out of the squad for the Manchester derby in December.
His relationship with Amorim became strained after the forward said he was ready for a new challenge.
