Speaking after the match in an interview shared via Barcelona’s official X handle, the Englishman wore a smile throughout as he hopes for more success throughout the season for him and teammates. He said:

Yeah, I’m very happy today, my first trophy (for Barcelona) and it’s always the best feelings. I hope now for the rest of the season, we can go on and win some more. We had a top performance (against Real Madrid) and this is what we are capable of doing, there are still areas we can still improve but today, we enjoyed this performance.

Barcelona are keen to keep Rashford permanently as he his liked by the club and especially Sporting director, Deco but the Catalan giants must meet Manchester United’s €30m valuation. The club are struggling financially but are hoping to make the deal happen.

Rashford may also return to Manchester United following the sack of Ruben Amorim, who allowed him leave the club last summer.
