Manchester United returns with an improved deal for Mbeumo’s bid

Softfootball understands that Manchester United has submitted an improved bid for Bryan Mbeumo.  Manchester United sent in a new bid for Bryan Mbeumo that is now £65 million plus a further £5 million in add-ons for the Brentford forward.

According to The Athletic, the offer marks United’s third attempt to strike a deal for the 25-year-old Cameroon international, whose preference to join Old Trafford has already been communicated to both Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur.

United’s initial bid of £45m plus £10m in variables was knocked back, with a second approach of £55m plus £7.5m also turned down. But talks have continued, and sources close to the negotiations suggest Brentford are holding out for a fee higher than the £62.5m United paid for Matheus Cunha earlier this summer.

Mbeumo, who is entering the final year of his contract, though Brentford retains a 12-month extension option, is seen as a priority signing by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Jason Wilcox, with both men keen to secure the deal before the start of the new campaign.

Despite interest from Spurs, now led by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Mbeumo has made it clear that United is his preferred destination if a move materialises.

The former Troyes attacker enjoyed a standout season in west London, scoring 20 goals and contributing eight assists to help Brentford finish 10th in the Premier League.

Recall that Softfootball had earlier stated that the duo of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have been targets for Juventus this summer.

United have made no secret of their willingness to part ways with both players, with Ruben Amorim greenlighting an aggressive squad overhaul that also includes the availability of Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.

Alongside Sancho, Juventus also initiated exploratory talks regarding Rashford during further discussions with United on Thursday. The 26-year-old forward, who scored just eight goals in all competitions last season, is no longer in Amorim’s plans and was dropped from the squad in December.
