Manchester United ready to offload Hojlund to Italy as Sesko arrives

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is likely to be the sacrificial lamb in Ruben Amorim’s attacking department, as the club is considering sending him back to Italy.

Softfootball has gathered that Manchester United are in talks with Italian side AC Milan to take up the services of Rasmus Hojlund on loan ahead of the new season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, who shared the position of United towards Hojlund ahead of next season on his X handle, the English club has offered up the striker for a loan deal to Milan.

This was what Fabrizio wrote on his X handle:

“Manchester United are set to discuss with Rasmus Højlund about his future.

AC Milan aware of possible opportunity on initial loan with heavy loan fee and salary covered.

❗️ Højlund insists on staying at Man United, not scared by competition.”

The offer to offload Hojlund seems justifiable to the Red Devils, who haven’t seen any significant impact of the Danish striker since he joined United from Atalanta in 2023. He has only managed to score 14 goals in his 62 appearances in the United shirt.

And seeing that the new bride, Benjamin Sesko, is set to arrive in Manchester on Friday, the club is making preparations to sieve off unwanted weeds across the club.

Just as Softfootball had earlier reported, Sesko’s deal to United has been confirmed, with the player set to move with his agent to Manchester on Friday after both RB Leipzig and United agreed on a €85 million deal with add-on.

However, Rasmus had some bright moments during the preseason games, whereby he scored and created an assist in the four games played for the club, which he believed was enough to make him compete alongside other strikers like Joshua Zirkzee and new signing Sesko next season.

But the drama will continue to unfold as the transfers season enters the last wee as Manchester United will be playing against Fiorentina next Saturday at Old Trafford.
