According to football transfer expert, Florian Plettenberg via his official X account, that the Red Devils are confident of landing the Slovenia international.

He revealed:

“Manchester United have improved their offer and are currently proposing around €80 million as a fixed fee + add-ons (previously €75+10).

“However, there is still no agreement with RB Leipzig. Marcel Schäfer has not accepted the current offer as of this morning at 9:49am German time and further improvements are demanded.

“Benjamin #Sesko is waiting for an agreement between the clubs, as he is keen to join Manchester United. #MUFC”

However, the player and his representatives are keen on a move to Manchester United but are also impressed with the proposal from Newcastle.

The 20-time Premier League champions want a striker as demanded by manager, Ruben Amorim after they finished 15th last season and were one of the lowest scoring teams in the tournament .

Amorim is not confident Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund can lead the attack for next elseason as they flopped last season scoring a combined seven goals in the Premier league.

The Mancunians have already brought in attacking reinforcements in the likes of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolves and Brentford respectively but the manager wants a target man.

For Newcastle United, they are preparing for the departure of Alexander Isak who is wanted by Liverpool. The Reds had a £120mollion bid rejected by the Magpies as they value Isak at £150million.

Leipzig omitted Šeško from their last friendly against Atalanta and the striker has been training alone since it became obvious that he would leave the club this summer.
