This may be the most weird transfer of the summer with Manchester United looking at the possibility of a swap deal involving Alejandro Garnacho and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

Softfootball can report that the Red Devils have struggled to spend this summer as they are consciously looking to comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Chelsea have a sightly better record than Manchester United but the Blues have spent a lot on transfers this summer and would like to balance their books.

According to Goal, Reuben Amorim is desperate to get a top striker for his Manchester United team after they failed to score enough goals last season, finishing 15th on the premier league log. The Red Devils have been linked with Victor Osimhen, Hugo Ekitike and Ollie Watkins but those are very expensive deals to excute.

So far, no formal offer has yet been submitted but the 20-time Premier League champions are monitoring Jackson’s status closely, especially given Chelsea’s growing surplus of strikers.

Jackson has found himself down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap despite scoring 24 goals in the Premier League across two seasons. As a result, Chelsea are willing to do business might increase as the transfer window progresses.

As for Garnacho he fell out with the manager after he did not start the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur which the Red Devils lost by 2-0. He went on social media to like the post by his brother criticising the coach.

At the end of the season, Manchester United revealed that the winger has asked to leave this summer and is currently training away from the first-team group, alongside other out-of-favour stars such as Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.

The current Club World Cup champions have not made an official approach yet, but his availability and skillset is certainly of interest to Enzo Maresca’s side.

The report claims that Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly hoping to conduct straightforward player sales to maximise financial flexibility. United, in particular, stand to benefit significantly from selling Garnacho, an academy product, as such deals count as pure profit on the books.

Garnacho is valued at £60 million ($80m) which scared off multiple suitors but the Red Devils are understood to be open to lowering their asking price to around £50m ($67m).

Softfootball reported earlier that Garnacho who is having relationship troubles is closely monitored by Aston Villa, Tottenham and Chelsea but the prospect of a swap deal will be most attractive to Manchester United who are in dire need of a goalscorer.

Chelsea are open to selling Jackson this summer and he is also £60m. The Senegalese was part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup.
