Ruben Amorim seems to be getting the best out of his Manchester United side in pre-season as they continued their good form with a 4-1 win over Bournemouth in the United States, Softfootball reports.
The Mancunians moved into pole position in the Premier League Summer Series tournament with that victory over the Cherries in Chicago. They’ve now won two out of two following their 2-1 win over West Ham three days ago.

New signings, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were not featured in the match while Diego Leon started from the bench. Amorim still put up a strong side with Bruno Fernandez anchoring the midfield alongside Casemiro while Mason Mount and Amad Diallo played as the two number 10’s.
Manchester United started the game more energetic and created openings that paid off. Man of the match Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu set up his Danish compatriot Rasmus Hojlund with a pinpoint cross and the former Atalanta striker finished with a glancing header.
Dorgu then went ahead to score himself after he received a pass from Mount, showed great balance and composure before placing the ball beyond Djordje Petrovic, who was in goal for Bournemouth as the first half ended 2-0.
The Red Devils continued their dominance in the second half, closing down spaces, recovering balls and finding teammates with ease. It was no surprise when they increased their lead to 3-0 courtesy of a brilliant low shot from Amad.
Manchester United pushed for the fourth and got in but it came in a near comic fashion as new signing, Diego Leon showed his to escape two of his markers in midfield, pushed forward in full speed but tumbled on his own but was lucky because the ball rolled into the path of teammate Ethan Williams and he made no mistake finishing with aplomb for his first senior goal at the club.
However, Bournemouth got a consolation goal late in the second half as Matthijs de Ligt deflected David Brooks’ cross into his own net to end the match 4-1.
Now, Manchester United need just a point against Everton on Sunday to lift the trophy in Atlanta. Hopefully, Cunha and Mbeumo will be available for the game against the Toffees.
After the encounter, Man of the match, Dorgu revealed to Man United official media channel that he is happy with his performance and scoring in the pre-season friendly.
He said:
“It felt good. It was good to help the team out there and it was good to get the win, we just keep improving and look forward to the season.
“It was good to see the fans were still there even thought the weather conditions were not so good. It was good that the team gave a good performance for the fans.”

The former Lecce defender also believes that the team is coming to terms with everything the manager wants and are already showing signs of improvements.
Dorgu added:
“I feel like the pre-season is helping everyone to understand Ruben’s ideas even more.
“The more training we have, the more we will grow into his ideas and I feel like it is being seen a little bit on the pitch already. We just keep improving.”
Dorgu wrapped up the interview by expressing happiness for Ramus Hojlund for scoring in the match.
He said:
“It was good to see him score again and hopefully he will score [some] more again in the season,” said Patrick.
“Every game is a chance to improve and be ready for Arsenal. Every game is important and we will just take it game by game.”
Manchester United finished a disappointing 15th last season and would be hoping to do better this season. They begin their Premier League campaign against Arsenal at Old Trafford on August 17.
