Manchester United have officially confirmed the departure of club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy following the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim.
Softfootball understands that Van Nistelrooy’s exit brings an end to his brief return to Old Trafford, where he served as assistant coach before taking charge of the first team on an interim basis after Erik ten Hag’s dismissal.
The former Dutch striker oversaw four matches as caretaker manager before Amorim assumed control of the club.
In a statement released on Monday, Manchester United thanked Van Nistelrooy for his professionalism and contribution during his second spell at the club, describing him as a legend who will always be welcome at Old Trafford.
The club also confirmed the departures of first-team coaches Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel as part of the coaching staff reshuffle under the new management.
United added that details of Amorim’s complete first-team coaching staff will be announced in due course as preparations continue under the Portuguese tactician.
