After the match, Manchester United via its official X handle share a beautiful post praising Bruno Fernandes for his brilliant contribution to Portugal’s qualification to the 2026 World Cup. The post read:

🎩 @B_Fernandes8 scored a hat-trick as Portugal sealed their spot at the 2026 #FIFAWorldCup this afternoon by beating Armenia 9-1 👏

Portugal were without their all-time topscorer Cristiano Ronaldo after he got a red card in their previous game against Republic of Ireland and thereby suspended for three matches. So, in addition to the Armenia game he missed, he will be out of Portugal’s first two matches at the World Cup.
