Liverpool is set to bring in Italian defender Giovanni Leoni today from Parma, with the teenager expected to arrive in the city for medical examinations and contract signing.
Softfootball understands that the 18-year-old is travelling alongside his agent to complete the final steps of the move, with all terms agreed between the clubs and player.
The deal, described as 100% on Wednesday, will see Leoni become Liverpool’s latest addition under Arne Slot after six new signings were completed this summer. The deal was said to cost Liverpool around €35m, with Parma placing a club sell-on clause on the Italian.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano this morning on his official X handle, he shared the update by stating that Liverpool will be bringing in Leoni for medicals, then followed with an official signing to become the Reds’ latest addition.
Fabrizio wrote saying:
“Giovanni Leoni will be today in Liverpool for medical tests and contract signing.
“He’s travelling with his agent as deal is 100% done with Liverpool as reported yesterday.”
Leoni, who has impressed with his maturity and defensive positioning in Italy’s youth system, was monitored by several European sides before Liverpool won the race for his signature.
Liverpool will begin their Premier League title defence on Friday when they take on Bournemouth. They will hope to conclude the medicals and official signing with Leoni’s camp for a ceremonial unveiling at Anfield before their game on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Reds have had the doors shut on them in their attempt to sign Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace captain is reported to remain with the Eagles till the end of his contract. The defender just lifted the FA Community Shield with Palace after beating Liverpool on penalties.
