Liverpool Set £50m Price Tag on Harvey Elliott

Premier League champions Liverpool have set a £50 million asking price for in-demand midfielder Harvey Elliott, who is expected to attract significant interest following a stellar summer with England.

Softfootball, gathered that the 21-year-old was recently crowned Player of the Tournament at the UEFA U21 European Championship, where he scored five goals in six appearances and played a pivotal role in England’s title-winning campaign.

Despite Elliott’s rise, Liverpool are reportedly open to selling the youngster. The arrival of Florian Wirtz is expected to limit his playing time, and with Elliott eager for minutes, the club is prepared to listen to offers.

Last season, Elliott started just two matches under new manager Arne Slot, both of which came after Liverpool had already clinched the Premier League title. The midfielder is now expected to follow fellow academy product Jarell Quansah, who is set to complete a £35 million move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool rate Elliott highly and have justified the £50 million valuation based on recent comparable transfers, including Quansah’s fee and Sunderland’s £32 million windfall from Jobe Bellingham’s transfer to Borussia Dortmund.

However, the Reds are willing to reduce their price to £40 million if a buyback clause is included in the deal. For clubs looking for an outright purchase with no clauses, the price remains at £50 million.

Elliott himself recently spoke publicly about his desire for regular playing time, stating he doesn’t want to waste his formative years on the bench. This has intensified speculation that he could be open to a move away from Anfield.

RB Leipzig are currently leading the race for Elliott’s signature, and while a departure would be a blow to Liverpool fans—many of whom have watched him make 147 appearances for the club—it seems increasingly likely.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are not solely focused on outgoings. As Softfootball previously reported, Liverpool are ready to offer Crystal Palace a swap deal plus cash involving Ben Doak in an attempt to land England international Marc Guehi.

The Reds remain keen on strengthening their defence with the signing of Guehi this summer, and Doak could be a useful tool in their negotiations. Palace won’t want to lose a key player like Guehi, but it’s looking like a long summer for the Eagles.
