According to football transfer expert, Florian Plettenberg via his official X handle, informs that the player didn’t hesitate to accept the offer as he sees it as an opportunity to represent one of the biggest clubs in the world. No agreement yet by both clubs but negotiations are advancing.

Plettenberg wrote:

“Understand Liverpool have reached a full verbal agreement with Giovanni #Leoni!

“The super-talented 18 y/o centre-back wants to join Liverpool with immediate effect. Negotiations with Parma advanced. #LFC want to sign two more centre-backs before Deadline Day if possible: one with experience (verbal agreement with Marc Guehi is done) and one young talent (Leoni).

“Rising Italian star Leoni to Liverpool — deal is close. Exclusive news from 7 August now on the way.”

Liverpool are one of the biggest spenders in this summer’s transfer window and they are looking to spend more with their priority target Alexander Isak yet to come in.

The Reds were also in talks with Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace and are close to sealing a £35milliom deal for the England defender after agreeing personal terms with the player.

Giovanni Leoni was outstanding for Parna last season and has caught the eyes with his physique, high level concentration, passing range, timely tackles and good temperament.

For an 18-year-old, he is truly playing beyond his years and very good at the things he does. A lot of people thought he would remain at Parma on loan but Arne Slot insisted that he will be part of his Liverpool squad for this season.

Last season, Liverpool won the league and the manager wants to get all the qualities he can in the squad to help them retain the title. The Reds will begin their title defence in the premier league against Bournemouth on August 15.
