Liverpool Football Club has brought to the public a major adjustment to their matchday safety and security procedures to align with the standard practices of the Premier League.
This new development applies to each and every supporter considering the numerous matches that are played at Anfield including the 1–0 Champions League win over Real Madrid at home.

Liverpool shared the update via their official X handle, saying,
Liverpool FC has made an important change to its matchday operations with an updated safety and security policy now in place for all games.
One of the new rules is that every fan will now be searched before gaining entrance into the stadium. Liverpool made the public understand that this search is for everyone and will continue even after kick-off.
This is a major step to ensuring that the environment is safe for everyone and that Anfield follows the same safety levels as other clubs. Supporters are now encouraged to be at Anfield earlier than usual mainly because of these searches.
Turnstiles will now open two hours before kick-off for regular ticket holders, and three hours before kick-off for hospitality guests. This is to help fans participate in the security checks without missing the beginning of the match.
Softfootball reported that Manchester United’s Luke Shaw once admitted that tension and hostility at Anfield is heavy especially as there are a lot of fans outside. So, this makes these new security checks are even more important.
There has also been an increase of resources at the entrances to make sure that the overall experience of the supporters are not affected negatively.
To further ensure the safety of fans, Liverpool assured that they work closely with Merseyside Police and other security partners to keep matchdays safe.
These new and updated policies have been put in place in the interests of fans. It will make sure that fans are protected and comfortably sit through the match with improved security standards.
