Liverpool got back on track with a solid 2–0 win over Fulham at Anfield, offering some relief after a difficult spell across league and cup competitions.

Liverpool handled the game professionally, doing most of the damage before halftime. Teenager Rio Ngumoha made history by scoring the opener, becoming the youngest player to net a Premier League goal at Anfield.

Shortly after, Mohamed Salah added the second following a well-worked move involving Jeremie Frimpong. The second half was more controlled, with the Reds managing the tempo, though they could have extended the lead with better finishing, while Alexander Isak’s return also caught attention.

Fan reactions on their X handle reflected both excitement and lingering concerns. Livingstone was already thinking ahead, saying,

Two first half goals against PSG next week and we may stand a chance.

Cee praised the young star but highlighted missed opportunities, writing,

Rio is a certified best teenager in the league right now. Now we just need Gakpo to start looking up; great assist, but Isak was free twice. Let’s carry this momentum into the Champions League!

Magnanimous questioned the manager’s tactics, stating,

I keep saying it Salah isn’t finished but the coach tactics this season has made him look bad… play him in a counter pressing game and watch him get a goal or assist. But stubborn Slot next game will still go back to his possession football that doesn’t work.

Blessing showed support with,

Come on Reds.

while Rai added,

+3pts Up Reds #YNWA.

Luwagwa, however, was highly critical, saying,

Kerkez should learn from Robertson. Szobo no longer has passion. Ryan is not good at anything not defending not attacking not holding. Frimpong is playing in front of Salah, like how.

Softfootball understands that although this result brings some calm, pressure is still building around Arne Slot. The heavy 4–0 loss to Manchester City which many fans described as “Haaland vs Liverpool” and the earlier 2–1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion have raised serious concerns about the team’s direction.

With a crucial European tie coming up, this win gives Liverpool something to build on, but bigger tests lie ahead.
