Having seen his United side play a 0-0 draw with Premier League newcomers, Leeds United in a preseason game, Ruben Amorim has lauded his opponent and described as “tough opponents” ahead of the coming season.
Softfootball reported how Leeds and United played a goalless draw in a preseason game at the Strawberry stadium in Stockholm, Sweden.

The match was watched by over 45, 000 fans on the day as United especially got to see their new buy in Matheus Cunha who they got from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £62.5 million.
Speaking to the press after the draw, United boss could not hide his thoughts about Daniel Farke’s team. The Leeds Press reported via their X handle that the Portuguese was in awe of his opponent. Amorim elucidated:
“Leeds United pressed us well and kept the ball probably better than we expected.
“They will be a very competitive team in the Premier League.”
Both teams are hoping to have a going outing in the league next season. For United, they are looking to better the bottom of table position finish from last season while there is pressure also on Amorim to deliver a trophy next season.
Amorim’s team hopes of a trophy last season were dashed by Tottenham who defeated the Red Devils in the finals of the Europa League.
For Farke, it is how to keep Leeds in the Premier League for another season. The Whites had been on and off in the topflight and now, having eventually promoted again, they need to find the formula to remain in there.

Amorim however has been handed more boost to achieve his target as United have now completed a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Softfootball had been following the Mbeumo to United story from the very beginning. Mbeumo will be United second signing as they expect some unwanted players including academy graduate, Rashford, Sancho and Onana to leave the club.
The Red Devils are stil very much active in the league and are expected to sign a few more players in this window.
