Kylian Mbappé has been officially included in the France national football team squad for upcoming international friendlies after recovering from injury.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, the Real Madrid forward has been called up following his return to action after a sprained left knee, which had sidelined him for several matches earlier this month.

Fabrizio confirmed saying:

France officially include Kylian Mbappé into their squad to be part of their friendly games from next week after return from injury.

The club announced on March 2, 2026, that Mbappé will undergo conservative treatment, with surgery ruled out at that time. However, no clear return date has been established, and his availability remains subject to evolution.

Softfootball confirmed France head coach Didier Deschamps confirmed Mbappé’s inclusion on Thursday, March 19, 2026. The captain recently made a substitute appearance in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League victory over Manchester City, signaling his return to fitness.

Mbappé, who missed his club’s previous five matches, is expected to lead the line for France in friendlies against Brazil national football team in Foxborough, Massachusetts on March 26, and Colombia national football team near Washington, D.C. three days later.

Other attacking options in the squad include Hugo Ekitike and Rayan Cherki, while goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier also earns a call-up.

The matches represent France’s final preparations before Deschamps names his World Cup squad on May 13, with Les Bleus set to compete in Group I alongside Senegal, Norway and a yet-to-be-determined play-off winner.
