Kalidou Koulibaly signs new deal at Al Hilal as previous one was due to expire in June. Koulibaly stays — same as Rúben Neves.

Now 34, Koulibaly joined Al Hilal two and a half years ago after a long and successful spell at Napoli and a brief stint at Chelsea. Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, he has made 111 appearances for the club and remains a key figure in Simone Inzaghi’s side.

The centre-back was a regular starter for much of the campaign before missing several weeks due to AFCON duties with Senegal, a tournament he went on to win. Since returning, Koulibaly has featured in recent matches, with Al Hilal keeping clean sheets in both games he played.

The renewal allows both player and club to continue their partnership, with winning the Saudi Pro League standing as Al Hilal’s primary objective this season.

Earlier today, Al Hilal also confirmed that Darwin Núñez and Pablo Marí have been left out of the club’s registered squad for the Saudi Pro League. Following the arrival of Karim Benzema, Núñez will now only be available for AFC Champions League fixtures and will not feature in domestic league matches.

Away from Saudi Arabia, Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract extension with the England national team, keeping him in charge until after Euro 2028. The English FA officially confirmed the deal, with Tuchel expressing pride and renewed ambition as he committed his future to the Three Lions for a further two years.
