Juventus are expanding their search for a new goalkeeper after failing to make a breakthrough in negotiations for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez.
Softfootball previously reported that Martínez had emerged as Juventus’ leading target as the club looked to strengthen the goalkeeping department as part of its ongoing squad rebuild. However, with negotiations proving difficult, the Bianconeri are now keeping multiple options open ahead of the new season.
The Serie A giants remain interested in the Argentina international, but Aston Villa continue to stand firm on their desire to keep the World Cup-winning goalkeeper, leaving talks at a standstill.

Liverpool’s Alisson Becker had been Juventus’ preferred target earlier in the summer, but there has been no progress in recent weeks, and confidence over a deal has significantly diminished.
As a result, Juventus are now assessing several alternative options. Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Benfica’s Anatoliy Trubin are both under consideration, while Chelsea’s Filip Jörgensen has also been offered to the Italian club. Juventus previously showed interest in the Danish goalkeeper back in 2024.
