Renowned Portuguese football agent Jorge Mendes has been named Best Football Agent at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards, held in Dubai, further cementing his status as one of the most powerful figures in global football.
Mendes, the founder and head of Gestifute, an agency he established in 1996, is widely regarded as a true super-agent. Over the years, he has managed and facilitated high-profile deals involving some of football’s biggest stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Rúben Dias, Bernardo Silva, João Félix, David de Gea, James Rodríguez, and Lamine Yamal, the latter also winning the Maradona Award at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards.
His strategic influence on player careers, transfers, and club negotiations has reshaped modern football representation, earning him consistent global recognition.
Softfootball also gathered that Mendes was among several notable winners at this year’s ceremony, which saw Portugal win Best National Team of the Year 2025, Bilal Haddad claim the Koora Best Sports Content Creator in the Middle East, and Los Angeles FC secure the award for Best Club Branding.
