João Pedro has expressed huge emotions after being left out of the 2026 World Cup squad for Brazil. The Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti released the official list for Brazil national football team, which saw João Pedro, Bento Krepski, Andrey Santos and former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva all missing.

However, Neymar was included in the list, as there were pressures from fans and pundits for Neymar to be included, with many believing he could bring experience and confidence to the team.

João Pedro, who won Chelsea’s Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season, was emotional after missing out on the squad. This was his statement:
I tried to give my best at all times. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to fulfill this dream of representing my country in a World Cup, but I remain calm and focused, as I always try to be.
Joys and frustrations are part of football. From now on, I wish good luck to everyone who is there and I will be just another fan cheering for them to bring the sixth title home.
Softfootball believes, João Pedro missing out of the list is considered shocking given his performances for Chelsea, scoring many goals and making fans believe he had an automatic place in the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup.
