Investing €70m on Šeško will be a huge risk for Manchester United

Manchester United are in need of a striker ahead of the 2025/26 season after finishing a disappointing 15th last term and were one of the poorest scoring sides in the league.

Softfootball can report that Red Devils Coach, Ruben Amorim has made it his priority to sign a striker that would form a strong partnership with the likes of Bruno Fernandez, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Benjamin Šeško is one of the names on Manchester United’s radar and he is a promising striker hailed in many quarters as the next big thing as it concerns number 9’s in world football.

The 22-year-old is not yet producing the numbers that could link him as a world class striker, scoring 13 goals with 5 assists in 33 appearances in the 2024-25 Bundesliga for RB Leipzig.

Benjamin Šeško is a tall, athletic, and powerful striker known for his strong finishing ability, pace, and aerial threat. He combines physical presence with agility and technical skill, making him effective in various attacking roles and playing styles.

Šeško is a versatile forward who can excel in possession-based and counter-attacking systems.

Strengths: Finishing: Šeško possesses a powerful strike and an impressive ability to adjust and finish scoring opportunities, even with a less-than-perfect first touch.

Pace and Agility: Despite his height (6’4″), Šeško is surprisingly quick and agile, making him a threat on the counter-attack and capable of running past defenders.

Aerial Ability: As a tall striker, he is a strong presence in the air, winning aerial duels and posing a threat in set-piece situations.

Versatility: Šeško can adapt to different tactical setups, whether it’s leading the line, linking up play, or finding space in the box.

Off-the-Ball Movement: He intelligently positions himself to exploit space, both in the box and deeper areas, creating opportunities for himself and his teammates.

Pressing Ability: Coming from the Red Bull system, he has developed a strong pressing game, contributing to the team’s defensive efforts.

Dribbling: He has good dribbling skills and can create space for himself to get shots off.

Meanwhile, Transfer News Live shared an update on their X handle regarding Benjamin Šeško’s valuation. It stated that:

“RB Leipzig have slashed the asking price for Benjamin Šeško from €100M to €70M.”

Šeško, who Manchester United wanted last January was valued at €100m but it has now been reduced to €70m.

Manchester United may do with an experience striker but if they want Šeško, they must be patience and allow him grow.
