I’m ready for the Premier League, AC Milan’s Malick Thiaw declares

AC Milan defender, Malick Thiaw has declared his readiness to move to the premier league after Newcastle United agreed a deal for him, Softfootball reports.

The Rossoneri accepted a deal worth €40milliom including add-ons for the German international. He is already on his way to England where he would have his medicals on Monday morning before signing his long-term contract.

According to football transfer expert, Florian Plettenberg via his official X handle, Malick is excited for the new adventure with the Magpies and ready for the challenges ahead.

Plettenberg wrote:

“Excl | Malick #Thiaw is now on his way to Newcastle — the Premier League is calling.

“Thiaw told Sky before his flight: “I want to thank everyone at AC Milan, I’ve learned a lot. Newcastle? I’m happy with this choice, I’m ready for the Premier League“, he told @LucaBendoni.”

Interestingly, Malik Thiaw was on the verge of a move to Cesc Fabregas’ Como for €25m earlier in the summer as AC Milan were trying to get some money into the club following a spending spree this summer and a possible pursuit of Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund looming.

The Red Devils wants £40million for the Denmark international while AC Milan are proposing a loan for a fee of €6million then option to buy for €35million next season.

AC Milan hoped to raise money from the sale of Malik to Como but the player rejected that option because he saw it as a backwards step compared to where he was at the time.

Newcastle United came calling and he accepted the transfer without any hesitations, with AC Milan also pocketing a healthy profit. So, it’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Malik Thiaw is expected to sign his contracts on Monday with Newcastle United if he passes his medical and may be eligible to feature in the Magpies’ first premier league match of the season against Aston Villa if he is registered in time.
