Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that several prominent figures, including John Mikel Obi, Pep Guardiola, Brendan Rodgers and Yaya Toure, have played important roles in shaping his football career.

The Nigerian forward, who recently joined Middlesbrough on loan from Sevilla, made the revelation in an interview with TheBoroOfficial.

Biggest influence on my career? There are quite a couple. So many people helped me throughout my career, obviously, managers as well, [Manuel] Pellegrini, Brendan Rodgers, and Pep Guardiola,

Iheanacho said.

The forward worked under Guardiola at Manchester City, where he broke into the first team and gained valuable experience playing alongside some of the biggest names in world football.

Iheanacho also mentioned former Manchester City teammates Gael Clichy, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure, as well as Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy, who played an important role during his time at the Foxes.

Players as well Clichy, Kompany, Yaya Toure, obviously, and Jamie Vardy as well. There is a lot to be mentioned.

A lot of people have helped me throughout my career even in the [Nigerian] national team as well, John Mikel Obi, so many coaches have helped me as well, so that’s them.

Iheanacho will now hope to make the most of his loan spell at Middlesbrough as he looks to regain his best form and make a strong impact in the Championship.
