Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shared his thoughts on the 2-2 draw with Brentford on Saturday night, insisting his side deserves to win after what he described as a dominant second-half display, Softfootball reports.
Maresca thought his team had navigated a dodgy away day at Brentford to claim all three points, but stoppage-time drama stopped his Blues short of all three points.
The London derby saw Brentford ahead through Kevin Schade before Chelsea found a pair of second-half goals through some inspired subs, and the Blues felt a winning Premier League return would see them into the start of the UEFA Champions League next week.

But Chelsea failed to deal with a late throw-in and Fabio Carvalho found a point for the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium. When it comes to the depth of their attacking talent there is much that they can throw at their opponents in search of a winning goal but it will be how they defend those leads that concerns Enzo Maresca.
Speaking to the club media after the game on Saturday night via Chelsea official website, Marasca said:
I think we were much much better. I think we deserve to win the game second half but it’s a shame. We lost two points.
We knew that it was a tough game. The first half we struggled to find solutions, the space because they were defending very good. I think second half we were much better. It’s a shame because we concede in 93-94 minutes and we could manage better that moment.
Even if Enzo Maresca is blessed with one of the deepest squads in the Premier League, heavy rotation at Brentford presented risk for Chelsea. The Italian rolled the dice and his team surrendered two points.
Enzo Maresca’s selection raised eyebrows pre-game, as the youngster and new signing Jorrel Hato and the returning Wesley Fofana were preferred to James and Cucurella. Chelsea looked toothless in attack, failing to record a shot on target until the 43rd minute of the game.
The Blues also looked unorganised in defence, with Tosin Aradarobioyo and Nathaniel Chalobah leaving each other high and dry after stepping out of the back line and failing to secure possession.
Chelsea failed to get back to the top of the Premier League table after this draw, which leaves them in fourth place with eight points from four games.
