Manchester City has come up to give a fitness update on defender John Stones after he missed out on recent matches due to injury, Softfootball reports.
Man City Assistant coach Kolo Touré talked about this in a pre match conference which was shared on the club’s official X handle;

Kolo (On John Stones’ injury) It was his thigh. That’s the problem. I’m sure it wasn’t something too big. I think he will be back soon.
According to Kolo, Stone’s issue was with his thigh and it wasn’t so serious as he expects the player to return soon. Stones hasn’t played with the City squad for a while now and he missed the club’s recent Champions League match against Real Madrid which ended in a 2-1 win for City.
He also missed the Premier League match against Sunderland where they won with a 3-0 result. Touré explained that the team would decide on whether Stones would play the weekend game after seeing how players perform in the training.
This gives some hope to City supporters as Stones is an experienced member of the team. He had also faced some injuries in the past including a muscle injury that prevented him from participating in some England fixtures but he has shown great quality when fit.
Touré also gave an update on Rodri, saying that his rehab is going well but he won’t be available this weekend. So if Stones recovers as Touré expects, Stones will fully get back to the squad to help Manchester City in the Premier League and other fixtures.
