Rúben Amorim has thrown his support behind Benjamin Šeško following the striker’s return to the starting lineup, insisting the young forward is on the right path despite Manchester United’s narrow defeat at the weekend. The manager was encouraged by what he saw, even if the result did not go United’s way.
Šeško made his first start for Manchester United in the 2-1 loss against Aston Villa yesterday, marking an important step in his comeback after suffering a knee injury earlier in the season against Tottenham. Given his recent layoff, the club opted for a carefully managed approach to ease him back into action.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Amorim had this to say about his summer signing striker, Romano posted:
Benjamin Šeško is gonna improve a lot. He’s returned very fast. The idea was 70, maybe 75, minutes. We are trying to control everything. He did well, he fought a lot and he is going to do well.
Softfootball understands that even during his injury spell, Šeško remained fully committed to the club. The striker previously stated that the only thing he would regret for the rest of his life would be not choosing Manchester United, a sentiment that underlines his belief in the project and his determination to succeed at Old Trafford.
While United will be disappointed with the result against Villa, Šeško’s return offers a positive sign moving forward, as Amorim looks to build momentum and get key players back to full fitness.
