All the latest following an eventful round of internationals 🌍
Mikel Zubimendi and David Raya were on Spain’s squad for the home clash against Turkey. Neither got onto the pitch, though. Still, a 2-2 draw against Turkey was enough to seal World Cup qualification. Spain finished their qualifiers strong with five wins and one draw from six matches.
Belgium made a statement victory. Leandro Trossard, the Arsenal star, made his 50th cap, coming on as a sub in the second half of that 7-0 demolition of Liechtenstein. As reported by Softfootball, goals flew in from Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Doku, Vanaken, and Mechele. Belgium qualified for the World Cup again. Fourth straight time. Leandro didn’t score himself, but still, being part of that was huge.

Ecuador’s Piero Hincapie hit 50 caps too. The Arsenal defender helped his team keep another clean sheet in a 2-0 win over New Zealand. Angulo and Campana scored. Full calendar year unbeaten for La Tri. That’s some serious consistency right there.
Denmark Not their night. Christian Norgaard came on late as Denmark lost 4-2 to Scotland. Kieran Tierney’s 93rd-minute strike, then McLean’s halfway-line goal. Scotland is heading to the World Cup for the first time since 1998. Denmark is still in Pot 1 for European playoffs. Could face Northern Ireland, North Macedonia, Romania, or Sweden.

Riccardo Calafiori is also in the playoffs with Italy. Draw set Thursday, November 20. For Arsenal fans, it’s one of those moments you sit back and smile. Helping their nations qualify. Keeping 2026 World Cup dreams alive. Feels good.
