Ghana Set for AFCON 2027 Qualifiers as Draw Date Confirmed

Ghana national football team have outlined their roadmap for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers, with the Black Stars set to discover their group opponents on May 19, 2026, Softfootball reports.

According to updates shared on their official x handle, the draw will determine Ghana’s path in the qualification campaign for the tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football.

They stated:

🏆 AFCON 2027 Qualifiers Roadmap 🗺️ 🇬🇭 #BlackStars will discover group opponents at the draw on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers will run from September 2026 to March 2027. 👊🏾

CAF has confirmed that the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will take place between September 2026 and March 2027. A total of 48 teams will be divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the final tournament.

The 2027 AFCON finals are scheduled to run from June 19 to July 17, 2027, and will be hosted across three East African nations: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
