Manchester United have been hit by more injury worries after Alejandro Garnacho and Noussair Mazraoui withdrew from international duty as a precaution ahead of October’s fixtures.

Softfootball reported that Garnacho recently opened up on his career shift, insisting:

I have nothing bad to say about United.

The Argentine winger’s withdrawal from the Argentina squad now adds another concern for Manchester United, especially with the club already managing several injury issues.

United confirmed the withdrawals in a statement on their website, with Garnacho pulling out of Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia. He had been named in Lionel Scaloni’s squad alongside club teammate Lisandro Martinez.

However, the 20-year-old has been managing an issue over the past week and confirmed on Instagram that he would not be travelling to South America.

I won’t be able to be with the national team but I hope to recover so I can be on the next date,

Garnacho wrote.

Mazraoui was also forced off at half-time during United’s goalless draw against Aston Villa and will not represent Morocco during the international break as a precaution.

Kobbie Mainoo had earlier withdrawn from the England squad for their UEFA Nations League matches due to injury. The midfielder has featured in 10 of England’s 13 matches since making his debut in March but will miss the upcoming fixtures.

Like Garnacho, Mainoo has also been managing an issue. He missed United’s dramatic 3-3 draw in Porto after being substituted in the first half of the defeat to Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire was also forced off against Aston Villa, with the club still waiting for an update on the centre-back’s condition.

There was some positive news for United, however, as Victor Lindelof made his first Premier League appearance since March and is expected to captain Sweden against Slovenia and Estonia.
