Aston Villa have opened discussions with Chelsea over the potential signings of Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho as the clubs continue talks following their agreement for Morgan Rogers.
Jackson was among the names discussed during contacts between the two clubs over the past 24 hours, with Villa exploring the possibility of strengthening their attack ahead of the new season.
Unai Emery remains a long-time admirer of the Senegal international, having worked with him at Villarreal, and also identified Jackson as a transfer target during last summer’s window.
Despite Villa’s interest, Jackson’s preference is to remain at Chelsea and fight for his place under new head coach Xabi Alonso. The striker is determined to impress during pre-season and establish himself in the Spaniard’s plans.
Alejandro Garnacho’s future also remains uncertain, with Chelsea open to a permanent transfer if the right offer arrives.
Softfootball recently reported that Chelsea had reached a verbal agreement with Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers in a £117 million deal, and negotiations between the clubs have continued as both sides assess further transfer opportunities.
Jackson and Liam Delap are both awaiting greater clarity over their roles under Alonso, with expectations growing that one of the two forwards could leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes
