The second half saw Trabzonspor attempt a fightback. Felipe Augusto pulled one back in the 55th minute following a smart pass from Kazeem Olaigbe, making it 2-1 and briefly injecting hope into the Black Sea side’s campaign. But Galatasaray quickly restored their dominance.

Yunus Akgün struck in the 63rd minute, assisted by Leroy Sané, whose vision split the Trabzonspor defence with ease.
