Nigerian midfielder Ogochukwu Franklin Onyeka, popularly known as Frank Onyeka, is celebrating his 28th birthday today, January 1, 2026. The Super Eagles star was born on January 1, 1998, and currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League side Brentford and the Nigeria national team.
Fondly called “Frank the Tank” due to his relentless energy, strength, and ball-winning ability in midfield, Onyeka has become an important figure for both club and country. His work rate and tactical discipline have earned him consistent selections in Nigeria’s midfield setup.

Onyeka is presently part of the Super Eagles squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Nigeria have already qualified for the Round of 16 after completing the group stage with a perfect nine points from three matches.
Softfootball had earlier reported birthday celebrations for Calvin Bassey and Bright Osayi-Samuel on December 31, 2025, as Super Eagles players continue to mark personal milestones during the AFCON campaign.
As Frank Onyeka marks another year in his career, Nigerian fans will be hoping he continues to play a key role as the Super Eagles push further in their quest for continental glory at AFCON 2025.
