The midfielder has represented Nigeria at youth level and will now be looking to use the tournament to further establish himself in senior club football.

Esperance will enter the competition with ambitions of competing strongly against teams from different continents. Ogbelu could therefore play an important role depending on the tactical plans of the coaching staff.

The Club World Cup has attracted significant attention because of its expanded format and the presence of leading European and South American clubs.

For Ogbelu, involvement in such a tournament could provide exposure that may help accelerate his development.

Nigerian football supporters will also be following his progress closely.

The midfielder will hope to take advantage of every opportunity during the competition and demonstrate that he can perform at a high level against international opposition.
