Former Chelsea captain, Thiago Silva arrived the Porto today to begin a fresh European adventure, Softfootball reports.
Coincidently his former side Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad this evening and that would have delighted the Brazilian who remains a very strong supporter of the Blues.
According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle. He revealed that the deal is complete as previously reported. He said:
Thiago Silva has arrived in Oporto as he’s new FC Porto player from today. Thiago signed few weeks ago as revealed with Porto always being his priority. Deal done by Gol International by Pini Zahavi and agent Paulo Tonietto.
Thiago Silva faced Chelsea during the Club World Cup with Fluminense and the Blues came out on top. The London team went ahead to win the summer tournament by beating favourites Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the final 3-0.
Thiago Silva featured prominently for Fluminense, where he played 47 games for the Brazilian side. He is expected to help Porto challenge for the Portuguese League title with the likes of Benfica and Sporting Lisbon their main rivals.
