Former Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi has expressed delight after his Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) debut, Softfootball reports.
The center back who joined PSG this summer from the Cherries played the full 90minutes as the Ligue 1 defending Champions beat Nantes 1-0 at the Stade de la Beaujoire in the opening weekend of the French league.

Speaking to PSG’s official club media after the encounter, the defender who enjoyed a solid performance could not hold back his excitement at making his debut for the club.
Zabarnyi revealed:
“I feel great. I really enjoyed being on the pitch today. I was glad to play the whole match and enjoyed myself. I feel well. I really enjoyed playing with the ball. I stayed focused because they were trying to counter-attack with a low block, so it’s a bit different. But for me, it was fine, I enjoyed today.”
He also praised the Fans for their support as they made him feel at home. He said:
“I love the fans, they’re incredible! They never stop singing, it’s amazing. It feels great to hear them.”
For manager, Luis Enrique, it was a deserved win for his side unlike the UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur where he felt his side was lucky.
He said:
“The most important thing is the three points. At the same time, I think the team played well. I believe we deserved the win, but it was tough because Nantes defended very well, sitting deep.
“Right now, improving in terms of fitness and our ability to use the ball is very important. If we want to have the chance to win everything and prepare ourselves for that, we need all the players. At the moment, I think being able to play with many players is important, and it’s a sine qua non.”
Paris Saint-Germain will continue their title defence next week at home against Angers.
