Real Madrid are moving decisively to secure the long-term future of their superstar Vinícius Júnior, with club president Florentino Pérez personally leading efforts to finalize a new contract.
According to Fabrizio Romano via their official x handle, Pérez has been pushing for months to reach an agreement that would extend Vinícius’ stay beyond his current 2027 deal, amid growing interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Romano reported;
Florentino Pérez has been personally pushing and insisting for months to advance on Vinicius Jr new deal. Real Madrid president wants Vini Jr to stay and put pen to paper as soon as possible. Talks continue + decision up to Vini.
Negotiations are ongoing, with discussions reportedly centered around a potential extension until 2030. The deal could see Vinícius become one of the club’s top earners, with a salary close to €20 million net per season.

Despite external pressure, the Brazilian winger has consistently expressed his commitment to Madrid, stating his desire to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu “for a long time.” The final decision, however, remains in his hands as talks continue.
On the pitch, softfootball has reported that Vinícius continues to justify the club’s urgency. He delivered a decisive moment in the UEFA Champions League, scoring an 80th-minute winner against Benfica to seal a 2–1 victory and confirm Madrid’s place in the Round of 16.
The match, however, was briefly overshadowed by an alleged racist incident involving Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni, leading to a temporary halt in play.
The incident sparked widespread condemnation, with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) calling for stronger action against racism. Teammates like Aurélien Tchouaméni also voiced support, describing the win as not just sporting success, but “a victory over racism.”
