Softfootball reports that Barcelona midfielder Fermin López has dismissed speculation of a falling out with teammate Gavi, insisting their friendship remains unchanged.
Fermin Lopez’s name has been the talk of the media following the high-profile pursuit of Chelsea for his signature; even Yamal addressed the media, claiming that the Spanish midfielder never thought of leaving Barcelona.
In an interview with the media, López stressed that he and Gavi have been close since their days at Real Betis, long before both players joined Barcelona’s La Masia academy. claiming they have been friends since the age of 12, and their relationship has been the same as always. Lopez further claimed that Gavi is just like a brother to him.
The midfielder also addressed the rumours directly, noting that speculation is part of football but does not reflect reality. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano echoed López’s remarks on his official X account.
Quoting him as saying,
“Fermín denies rumours of problems with Gavi: “He’s still my friend. People will always speculate, that’s not going to change. We have a good relationship, as always, and there is nothing more to say about it”.”

Reports of tension between the two emerged after a deleted Instagram post sparked rumors of a cooling friendship. López, however, insisted there was no rift and made it clear he would not be commenting further on the matter.
Both players are highly regarded at Barcelona and seen as part of the club’s future. López’s statement puts to rest any suggestion that personal issues could affect their relationship on or off the pitch.
