FC Barcelona have reached a final agreement to sign highly rated 2009-born winger Ajay Tavares from Norwich Cityas reported by fabrizo Romano via their official x handle. The deal, initially agreed verbally in January 2026, has now been completed after final administrative details were resolved. Tavares is set to undergo his medical on February 23, 2026, before officially joining the club.

Softfootball reported that The 16-year-old is expected to begin his development within the Juvenil A or Barça Atlètic setup as part of the club’s long-term integration plan. His Portuguese passport played a key role in facilitating the international transfer under FIFA regulations for minors. Despite strong interest from several German clubs, Tavares chose the Barcelona project.
