Softfootball understands that Alejandro Garnacho has made it very clear he has no regrets about leaving Manchester United, following his £40 million move to Chelsea.

The 21-year-old Argentine winger, who featured in Chelsea’s recent goalless draw against Bournemouth, spoke to the media ahead of the Blues’ Champions League clash with Atalanta in a video posted by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account.

Unsurprisingly, Garnacho’s words sparked plenty of reactions online. Some fans saw it as a bit cold, even disloyal. BUFFER (@PhelmsBuff) didn’t hide his frustration.

He tweeted:

ahhhhhh, Garny is a snitch fr Bro, is fxxkn lying and his cool with it Anyways, we’re happy to collect our full payment on you with no remorse. We don’t need you.

The tone made it clear this user felt Garnacho wasn’t showing the respect expected after leaving United.

Others took a more measured view, arguing it wasn’t really about the player. 𝕮𝖍𝖗𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖔 (@Alpha_ChrisX) praised his pragmatism.

He said:

Smart answer. Sometimes it’s not the player who makes the wrong move, it’s the club. Man United has a habit of holding talent back; walking away was probably the only way to actually grow.

Meanwhile, Riker (@JoeRikerEvans) offered a more humorous take.

He tweeted:

Ego of Ronaldo, ability of Gemma Collins.

suggesting that Garnacho’s confidence might be a bit over the top compared to his talent.

Chelsea fans, meanwhile, have welcomed Garnacho’s move, viewing it as the right decision, according to IDU VI of Igboukwu (@titooike)

He wrote:

Why should he have regrets? Being a Chelsea player in this decade is the best decision there is. Chelsea are a bigger team.

Majesty (@Onyeji_uwa) also highlighted the difference in fortunes.

She posted:

How would he have regret when he is busy traveling the world playing Champions League while United is rotting at bottom table.

Garnacho’s message is clear: he’s focused on growing as a player, embracing the Champions League, and making the most of life at Chelsea. Any lingering thoughts about Manchester United are firmly left behind.
