Fans React to Brazil’s 1–1 Draw Against Tunisia

4 Min Read

Brazil’s 1–1 draw with Tunisia caused a storm on X, as supporters from both nations shared strong, emotional reactions. Tunisia celebrated avoiding defeat against the Seleção for the first time in history, while many Brazilian fans were left frustrated and confused.

Everyone expected Brazil to be favourites; even Softfootball predicted an easy 3–0 win for Brazil, but the Tunisian team proved solid at the back throughout the game. After the match, Brazilian fans expressed their frustration, while Tunisian supporters warned them not to underrate their players again.

The first major reaction came from أبو يوسف @Abou_Youssef_TN a Tunisian supporter who felt people were underrating his national team; he stepped in to correct what he believed were disrespectful comments, reminding Brazilian fans of Tunisia’s strength and defensive record.

He said:

Some comments here don’t respect Tunisia’s selection. For those who don’t know, Brazilian friends, the Tunisian national team is one of the strongest in Africa. It qualified for the World Cup without conceding a single goal! And the proof of that is the respectable level it showed today.

Next came a furious response from a Brazilian fan who expected nothing less than a win.

@MrSports276923 aimed his frustration at both the result and Ancelotti’s controversial decision to let Lucas Paquetá take a penalty despite his ongoing investigations.

He said:

Friendly or not, Brazil had to beat Tunisia. And Ancelotti still lets Paquetá take the penalty kick amid so many investigations… impossible to understand. Drawing 1–1 with such a weak team is shameful.

Another Brazilian fan turned his criticism specifically toward Paquetá’s involvement in the squad. Pedroni @pedrosous_a made it clear that he believes the midfielder has no place in the World Cup squad:

Paqueta has already shown more than enough to not be called up for the World Cup.

Some comments were less emotional and more tactical. Sidney Pires @Sidneypires1 focused on Brazil’s lack of energy and poor chemistry in attack, particularly between Vini Jr and Rodrygo:

It lacked the same motivation from the previous game. It seems like the team entered with a spirit of superiority. Vini Jr and Rodrigo stayed distant from each other… I didn’t see any involvement; they said ‘Pass the ball to Vini’ and also to Esteves.

But one fan delivered the harshest criticism of the night. Fut Bahêa @futbahea1931 expressed deep frustration with sarcastic jabs at multiple players, questioning their quality and focus.

He tweeted:

Who told Bento that he’s a goalkeeper? Is Caio Henrique even a full-back? Is Vini Jr a player or a model? Estevão carrying this amoeba selection. You’re a disgrace, 2026 is coming, I wanna see what the scam of the moment will be.

In the end, the 1–1 result meant far more than the scoreline on the pitch online; it triggered a fiery exchange of pride, criticism, and frustration. For Tunisia, it was a historic moment. For Brazil, it was a warning sign that fans are losing patience ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
