According to Softfootball sources, Estevão landed in London on August 4, 2025, and took part in his first training session shortly after. He underwent some integration before he was formally presented to the media and fans.
The deal, which was agreed with Palmeiras back in June 2024, sees Chelsea pay an initial £29 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially bringing the total to £51.4 million. It’s a hefty investment, but Chelsea believe Estevão is worth every penny and he has even received approval from the team’s main star, Cole Palmer.
He joins a growing group of Brazilian talents at Stamford Bridge, including Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, and Angelo Gabriel.
Before making the switch to Europe, Estevão impressed heavily for Palmeiras, scoring 13 goals and supplying 12 assists in just 43 appearances across the Brazilian Serie A, Copa do Brasil, and Libertadores. Comparisons with the likes of Lamine Yamal and even Neymar are already being made, although the youngster insists he’s focused on writing his own story.
Speaking in his first interview with Chelsea’s official website, Estevão shared an emotional and down-to-earth look into his motivations, inspirations, and hopes for the future.
He Said:
“I’m a child of God, a calm boy. In my free time, I love playing video games and spending time with my family. They’re everything to me.”
When asked about his happiness to be at Chelsea, he simply said with a smile:
“Yes. It is ‘I am happy’. I am very happy.”
The 18-year-old opened up about the journey that brought him here.
He said:
“My biggest motivation has always been to make my family proud. Not for the titles, or achievements, but for them. I know how much we’ve all sacrificed to get here.
“My dad is my biggest inspiration. He trained with me, believed in me, and he’s here with me in England now. For us, this is a shared dream.”
Estevão also spoke about his decision to choose Chelsea:
“It was the project their vision. Everything about the club, the structure, and what they want to build. It just felt like the right fit for me and my family.”
On his long-term ambitions, he didn’t hold back:
“I want to win everything the Premier League, the Champions League. And personally? To become the best in the world. I know it’ll take hard work, but that’s the goal.”
As for who inspired him most at Chelsea growing up; he said:
“Eden Hazard. He’s ace. I watched him a lot and now I’m here. It’s incredible.”
And while he’s just getting started, the teenager is already embracing the club’s legacy:
“It’s a pleasure to be at a club where so many Brazilians have made history. I hope to follow in their footsteps and write my own chapter here.”
Estevão Willian’s arrival at Chelsea is more than just another signing it’s a signal of intent. The club is betting big on youth and talent, and with his feet already on English soil, the next chapter for both Chelsea and Estevão starts now.
