Bayern Munich secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in a tense Champions League clash. Following their record breaking 7-2 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen, PSG returned with confidence but faced a sterner test against The Bavarians, who proved to be a tougher challenge, Softfootball reports.

The Bavarians struck first when Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry combined to release Michael Olise in the box.
His effort was parried by Lucas Chevalier but the rebound fell to Luis Diaz, who wasted no time as he hammered the ball past Marquinhos to give the visitors an early 1-0 lead.

The Germans controlled the game through disciplined defending and smart positioning. Fabian Ruiz saw a shot deflicked wide off Khvicha Kvaratskheila, while a promising move saw Bradley Barcola thread Ousmane Dembele into the box, only for the former Dortmund stricker to be flagged offise.
The home side tried to respond but Ousmane Dembele, sustained an injury early in the game and was replaced by Kang In Lee limited their attacking cohesion. Despite controlling possession, they still struggled to break Bayern’s defensive line.

Bayern doubled their advantage in quick succession when Marquinhos mishandled a touch and Díaz pounced again, placing the ball inside the left post to make it 2-0.

The hosts’ hopes of reducing the deficit were briefly dashed when Josip Stanisic’s apparent third for Bayern was correctly ruled out for offside.

A turning point came in the second half of the game when Luis Diaz received a red card for a reckless tackle on Achraf Hakimi, reducing Bayern’s men to 10. PSG however immediately intensified their attacks, pressing relentlessly and created numerous chances.

The German head coach Vincent Kompany responded by bringing on Tom Bischof for Serge Gnabry as he looked on reinforcing the team’s defensive solidity despite the numerical disadvantage.

Their efforts paid off in the 76th minute when they Joao Neves converted a precise cross from Kang In Lee, narrowing the deficit to a 2-1 and sparking hope for the fans.

Despite their sustained attacking efforts and dominance in possession, PSG count not find an equalizer. The Bavarian’s defensive organization, combined with Manuel Neuer’s composure help them secure the win.
