Roberto De Zerbi has emerged as a leading candidate to become the next head coach of Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano via his x handle.
Romano confirmed:
Roberto de Zerbi has always been a main candidate for Tottenham job in the summer, if Spurs stay in PL. Top target as always reported since he left OM, with Pochettino another name on shortlist. De Zerbi-Spurs, currently only a topic for June.
De Zerbi, who has been on Spurs’ radar since his departure from Olympique de Marseille on mutual agreement, is reportedly open to taking over the role. However, Softfootball understands that any potential move is expected to be discussed in June and remains dependent on the club retaining their Premier League status.

Tottenham are currently enduring a difficult campaign, having parted ways with Thomas Frank before appointing Igor Tudor. However, performances have not improved, with the club sitting just one point above the relegation zone following a 3–0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is also understood to be on the club’s shortlist as they consider options for a long-term appointment.
While De Zerbi has held private discussions with Spurs’ hierarchy, his willingness to take the job could change if the club are relegated, making their Premier League survival crucial to any potential agreement.
