Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente has voiced his surprise over how Barcelona handled communication regarding Lamine Yamal’s recent fitness issues, describing the situation as not normal at all.
Softfootball earlier reported that the young winger has struggled with recurring injury problems this season and only recently returned to action just before the El Clásico clash against Real Madrid. Yamal, who has been a bright spark for both club and country, continues to draw concern over his fitness and workload given his young age.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, De La Fuente complained about the way barcelona handled the yamal situation. Romano posted;
Spain coach De La Fuente on Barça sending notice for Lamine Yamal’s pubic problems: I’m shocked, I’ve never been through a situation like this before, and I don’t think it’s normal at all. You don’t know anything, no news reaches you… then they suddenly tell you.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has previously promised to always protect and support the teenage sensation, stressing that the club will prioritize Yamal’s health and long-term development above all else.
With Spain set to confirm their World Cup automatic qualification spot later this week, De La Fuente will be hoping Yamal’s situation stabilizes soon, allowing the young star to stay focused on his football without further setbacks.
